Gotta Finish What I Started

Almost four years ago, I started out on a journey to become a healthy version of me...reinventing myself. In the first three years, I did really well. I lost 175 pounds in that time. I was also blogging about my journey in an effort to keep myself honest because I am a people pleaser so I felt that if people were reading my story I wouldn't want to let anyone down. I also hope that through my blogging I might inspire someone to start their own journey of improving their health.

Somewhere in that third year I lost my will to continue and I didn't have the energy to keep going on with the work outs. It literally felt like a deflating balloon. I really thought it was all just that my brain was saying you can't do this anymore. During that third year, I had several trips to the ER and each time my blood pressure was extremely high. This past February I made a trip to the ER for a knee injury and it was sky high so the doctor wanted me to follow up with my family doctor. I didn't. I have to be knocking on death's door to go to the doctor.

Fast forward to last week. On Tuesday, I found a tick attached to my butt cheek and it was swollen to the size of a dime. All of that week I was feeling like poo and had many symptoms of Lyme disease. So on Friday, my fiancé Mark took me to the ER. And of course, my blood pressure was sky high again. The doctor thinks that my feeling bad and lack of energy for almost a year is due to the high bp. She did blood tests for the Lyme disease and other stuff but I won't hear from the Lyme results until later this week. She put me on Zestril and I have to follow up with my doctor. And this time I will! I really need to get this bp under control so I can get back to working out.

I've been on the Zestril 5 days now and I can already feel my energy coming back slowly. I'm gonna start with some yoga and walking before I get back into the hardcore stuff.

Wish me luck and keep cheering for me!
